The purpose of the Wireless Master Plan (WMP) is similar to the goals and objectives of other long-range infrastructure plans, such as roadway improvements and the extension of water and sewer lines.  The WMP for cell tower sites combines land-use planning strategies with radio frequency engineering models to create an illustrative planning tool to help manage the development of future sites.  A comprehensive approach to wireless development in Mesa County will help align the needs of wireless broadband service providers with government and community objectives, allowing for infrastructure planning and development that will accommodate multiple providers, improve public safety, and help to attract and retain residents and businesses.

The Wireless Master Plan is a joint plan, prepared and adopted by the City of Grand Junction and Mesa County.
