No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Monday, June 15 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

Support Plateau Valley School District Water Tank Project

During the July 16 administrative public hearing, Commissioners approved a letter to the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) in support of the Town of Collbran’s grant request to fund the Plateau Valley School District water storage tank project. Mesa County has committed to donating one-third of an acre from the Mesa County Road and Bridge property located at 15620 57 ½ Road to the Town of Collbran as a place to house the water tank.

Grand Valley Transit offering fare-free service 08-31-2024

Fare-free public transportation is back this summer in Mesa County! At the July 9 public hearing, Commissioners approved an agreement with the Colorado Association of Transit Agencies (CASTA) for a $234,895 grant that will allow Grand Valley Transit (GVT) to offer riders service free of fare from July 1, 2024, through Aug. 31, 2024.

Grant secured for local eviction assistance program

Mesa County has approved a grant agreement with Grand Valley Catholic Outreach (GVCO) to provide up to $210,000 to support their Stop Eviction! rental assistance initiative. The total grant award includes a 14.5% County match of $30,450 and $179,550 in federal funds. This funding will aid the program in its mission to prevent families with children from facing homelessness.
