No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Monday, June 15 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

Safety Planning

Mesa County developed and adopted the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) in 2020, which describes safety processes and procedures, and updates it annually. The most recent update took place in December, 2025.

Safety Updates

  • In 2025, a dedicated fleet maintenance facility for Grand Valley Transit (GVT) was opened. This facility aids in efficiently maintaining GVT's vehicles.
  • An emergency call box (including video) was installed at the Clifton Transfer Facility.
  • A consistent security presence was established at the Downtown Transfer Facility, in addition to periodic patrols during non-service area.
  • 20 Solar lighting kits have been installed on GVT shelters throughout the system and more will be installed in 2026.
