No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Monday, June 15 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

The Work Experience Internship in Grand Junction, CO is a short-term, paid work activity, which provides an individual with the opportunity to acquire the skill and knowledge necessary to perform a job.

Wages are paid directly to the individual intern through the Mesa County Workforce Center. Approved funding is provided through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act grant.

Participants Receive:

  • Instruction in workplace skills, goals, and structure
  • Exposure to various aspects of an industry
  • Individual case management throughout the experience
  • Payment for all hours worked 

Businesses Receive:

  • Fully funded intern bringing fresh perspectives into the workplace
  • Assistance recruiting and screening internship participants
  • Support from Workforce Center case managers throughout experience
  • Final decision on selecting internship candidates for interview and hire
  • Opportunity to give back to the community and invest time in training our workforce

The Work Experience Internship in Grand Junction is a collaborative activity involving the employer and the Mesa County Workforce Center engaging in workforce development. 

Participants must be enrolled in our program prior to starting a work based learning or training opportunity, this process typically takes 1-2 weeks. All employers and participants must be registered with Connecting Colorado.
