No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Monday, June 15 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

All requests for disposal of non-hazardous industrial and special waste must be evaluated and pre-approved by the Regulatory Compliance Manager before being disposed of at the Mesa County Landfill. Mesa County Solid Waste Management defines "special waste" as any solid waste which requires chemical analysis prior to acceptance and/or any waste requiring special handling before disposal. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Contaminated Soil
  • Asbestos
  • Demolition Debris
  • Mobile Home Disposal
  • Trauma Waste
  • Sludge
  • 10 or More Tires

Contact the Hazardous Waste Collection Facility at 970-256-9543 for liquid waste disposal options.
