No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Monday, June 15 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

The Septic (OWTS) Department issues all OWTS/septic permits, septic clearances, and reviews land use applications where an OWTS is proposed.  All OWTS installers and pumpers/cleaners must be licensed by this department to install, pump and haul wastewater to a treatment facility.  

Programs and services offered by the Septic Department include:

     

     - OWTS permits and clearances

     - Installation inspections (performed by Mesa County Building Department)

     - Review of land use applications when OWTS is proposed

     - Training and licensing of OWTS installers and cleaners

     - Investigation of complaints regarding sewage from OWTS
