When snow falls, Mesa County plow crews don't clock out. Stay informed about the county’s snow removal program for safe and smooth winter travels as the cold season continues.

During a snowstorm, Mesa County crews typically begin snow clearing around 2 a.m. and continue until all major roads and bus routes are clear of ice and snow.

A sand and salt mixture is applied to the road surface for better traction and de-icing for motorists' safety. Roads and streets within incorporated cities are not included in the County's program.

Snowplow crews maintain 24-hour snow removal coverage during and after storms until near-normal driving conditions are restored.
