A $102,971.98 agreement for Phase 1 of the MESA-Q-6.8 Bridge Rehabilitation Project was approved by the Board of County Commissioners at the administrative public hearing on May 9, 2023.

The primary objective of Phase 1 is to assess the necessary repairs required for the MESA-Q-6.8 Bridge, located on Highway 6 and 50 near the Utah border. The project aims to identify the essential rehabilitation measures needed to bring the bridge up to current standards by evaluating its condition.

Mesa County Public Works has prioritized the bridge's rehabilitation efforts to meet the latest standards and maximize its lifespan. This approach ensures that the bridge will continue to serve the community effectively for an extended period.

Following the evaluation and recommendation of rehabilitation measures in Phase 1, Phase 2 of the project will commence. During this phase, the design of the rehabilitation plans will be developed based on the findings from Phase 1.
