Team Mesa Clean-Up

Last week Mesa County completed environmental mitigation of an area in Clifton that included the Peachtree shopping center, Union Pacific Railroad, CDOT and Mesa County.

In addition to the cleanup, a security fence was constructed with jersey barriers to prevent future public dumping, trespassing, and illegal RV encampments, as this has been a problem area for years.

We thank everyone who was involved in making this possible, specifically:

• Rudy Bevan & Travis Cole from Road and Bridge
• Travis Haldeman from Facilities and Parks
• Mesa County Surveyor Scott Thompson & Mesa County Assistant Attorney David Schwenke for assistance with the Right of Way assessment;
• Greg St. Martin, Code Compliance Service Officer, for project coordination and contracting the fence construction and environmental cleanup
